Get Help from UVU Librarians at our New Research Help Desk

Librarian Sophie at the Fulton Librarys new Research Help DeskLibrarians are easier to find than ever at UVU thanks to the library’s new help desk! In January 2022, the Fulton Library opened our brand-new Research Help Desk in the first-floor lobby—look for us just past the Circulation Desk but before you reach the elevators. Students, faculty, and other library visitors can ask for help finding and using library resources, developing research topics, using databases, citing sources, and more!

You’ll find friendly and knowledgeable librarians at the Research Help Desk every day of the week. No appointment necessary! Just drop by during our research help hours:

  • Mondays-Thursdays 8am-9pm
  • Fridays 8am-6pm
  • Saturdays 10am-7pm
  • Sundays 1-9pm.

The new Research Help Desk replaces the Reference Desk previously located in the middle of the first-floor computer lab. That desk is now our Tech Help Desk, where lab assistants can help with technology questions such as printing, accessing software, and troubleshooting connecting to the Wi-Fi. Lab assistants are available all hours the library is open.

While librarians love working with students face-to-face in the library, we know that’s not always the best or most convenient option for you. Other ways to contact a librarian include:

  • Schedule an appointment with your subject librarian for more in-depth assistance in their office or on Teams
  • Chat with a librarian via the chat box on the library’s website
  • Call 801-863-8840
  • Text quick questions to 801-290-8123
  • Send an email (especially helpful when research help has closed for the day)
  • Browse research guides and tutorials for tips to get started researching a subject or using a particular library resource.

We wish you all the success in the world this semester and always, and hope you’ll stop by to say hello next time you’re in the library!
