Exciting things are happening at the Bingham Gallery in the Fulton Library. November marks the 5th anniversary of Roots of Knowledge, and we are celebrating throughout the month.
The Roots of Knowledge Speaker Series continues with the theme of women in education, and we are pleased to host special guests Tom and Gayle Holdman on November 4 and Pres. Tuminez on November 18 to commemorate the anniversary.
Family-friendly events will take place every Thursday in November, from 5-8 pm, where visitors can join in an adventure to complete specially-themed scavenger hunts to win prizes. Each week will feature items in the windows related to the Easter eggs and pop culture references and focus on a unique theme – November 4 on treasure and artifacts, November 11 on literary references, and November 18 on movies and music.
We are excited to release a new Behind the Scenes audio tour on the making of Roots
of Knowledge and an updated introductory audio tour. Both will be available soon from
the Roots of Knowledge website. The Sutherland Archives shares the production history
of the stained-glass piece with a display in the first-floor concourse across from
the Bingham Gallery, and a commemorative Roots of Knowledge catalog, available late
November, will also be a keepsake for visitors.
We hope you will join our celebration!
