Happy Pride Month from the Fulton Library! In support of UVU’s LGBTQ+ community, we’ve gathered eight resources aimed to celebrate, empower, and uplift; browse the list below for resources you can use and, as always, remember: Keep marching. Keep celebrating. Keep showing up. However you identify, we have a place for you here.
Fulton Library Resources
LGBTQ+ Booklist – Celebrate Pride Month by picking up a new book with LGBTQ+ and own-voices representation. We’ve compiled 50 fiction, nonfiction, and poetry books that captivate, inspire, and explore a range of LGBTQ+ identities. Whether you want to see yourself reflected in a story or simply want to learn more about the LGBTQ+ community, we’re sure to have the book for you.
LGBTQ+ Research Guide – If you’re writing a paper or conducting research on LGBTQ+ topics, we have a research guide to help you through the process. With films, autobiographies, fiction books, and poetry collections, this guide outlines several resources to begin your research. From there, our subject librarians can help you narrow your topic, find scholarly articles, and cite your sources. For help with LGBTQ+ research, you can contact Annie Smith at smithan@uvu.edu or 801-863-8752.
All-Gender Restrooms – The Fulton Library’s four all-gender bathrooms are found on floors 1 and 3–5. When turning into the women’s restroom hall, each all-gender restroom is on the left before entering the main bathroom. If you need an all-gender restroom elsewhere on campus, there are 22 other locations across UVU. With full doors and locks, these bathrooms are private and accessible to everyone.
UVU Resources
UVU LGBT Student Services – Find support and build community with UVU’s LGBT Student Services. Check out their LGBTQ+ Housing Guide, Personal Information Change Guide, and follow them on Instagram—they post about the latest LGBTQ+ student resources, scholarships, and events. They also have a LGBT student lounge (LA 126), which is currently open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and you can drop by to meet other LGBTQ+ students.
UVU Student Health Services – In addition to individual and general group therapy, UVU Student Health Services offers an LGBTQ+ therapy group. Focusing on LGBTQ+ issues, this group is a safe space to talk through problems and improve your mental health among peers. UVU group therapy is free for students enrolled in at least one credit hour; individual therapy is $10 per session for those enrolled in at least nine credits during the fall or spring semesters or six credits during summer semester.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255.

Utah Pride Resource Library – The Utah Pride Center has compiledan extensive database of nonprofits, programs, and other resources available to LGBTQ+ Utahns. LGBTQ+ College Scholarships – If you need help paying for tuition, check out this list of 30 college scholarships for individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. With award amounts from $500 to $30,000, these scholarship applications are worth your time.
Utah LGBTQ+ SafeZone – Organized by the Utah LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, this online directory shares more than 30 resources for mental health, homelessness, suicide awareness, and more. All the businesses are based in the Salt Lake City and Utah County areas, so they’re local and accessible to UVU students.
