Modified Conditions (Yellow Alert)

Face coverings are required - governors executive order. The library has  modified hours of operation. Campus guests will not have access to the library or library computers. Please monitor UVU’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) page for current campus conditions. 

In an effort to minimize traffic on campus and protect community health, library items are not currently being loaned out to UVU Guests.

For Students and Faculty


  • The library is operating on modified hours.
  • Floors 3-5 are closed.
  • Group study rooms are not available.


  • Only web cameras, laptops, and headphones are available from the library’s equipment checkout. Please go to the first floor circulation desk during our modified hours.  
    • A limited number of laptops are available for checkout by current students. To check out a laptop, you must provide your UVU ID and be an undergraduate or graduate student currently taking classes. Only the student signing a check out agreement is allowed to pick up one laptop or tablet. Devices are subject to availability.


  • No donations will be accepted at this time.
  • Books may be checked out by placing a hold on the item through your library account.  After receiving an e-mail notice, your books may be picked up at the 1st floor circulation desk. Call circulation at 801-863-8886 for assistance.
  • Get research help virtually through chat, text, email and phone. Schedule a virtual appointment with a librarianThe reference desk is closed for in-person research help.
  • Access digital materials such as eBooks, streaming videos, and articles through the library’s OneSearch database. Streaming Videos and eBooks may also be searched separately from the library’s website.

For Faculty


  • Get assistance with streaming video by contacting Alan Stephens, Electronic Reserves Specialist.


  • Request Library instruction by contacting our Instruction Coordinator, Katherine Paterson. Options include:
    • Synchronously, via WebEx: Librarian instructor, faculty, and students attend session virtually, using a combination of video and screen-sharing to guide students through the curriculum.
    • Asynchronously, via Kaltura: Library instructor records a video session before the class that could be embedded or linked in Canvas.
    • Asynchronously, via online tutorials:
      • Students complete the Library Research Tutorial or view video tutorials on the library’s Tutorials page.
      • The Library Research Tutorial is also available as a module in Canvas Commons that faculty can import directly into their Canvas course.


  • Faculty office deliveries have been suspended. All items requested through this form will be made available at the Main Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Fulton Library within two business days.

What to Know for Fall Semester

  • Visitors by appointment only. No drop-ins.

  • Books available for check out by UVU students, staff, and faculty only (no guest check outs).
  • Textbook Reserve unavailable in fall semester.
  • Computers available for UVU students, staff, and faculty only (no guest access).
  • No donations are being accepted at this time.

  • No other equipment will be checked out.

Faculty Book Delivery
  • Not available at this time.
  • Books may be requested through online form and picked up at the 1st floor Circulation Desk.

Family Study Room
  • Closed fall semester.

  • Reopening August 24 for fall semester.
Group Study Rooms
  • Closed fall semester.
  • M-F 8-8; Sat 9-5; Sun 1-5.
