United States Department of Veterans Affairs

The Department of Veterans Affairs is charged with promoting the health and welfare of veterans of the American armed forces. Their site not only has a lot of resources for veterans, but also a wealth of research material on topics related to veterans.

Veterans History Project

Created and maintained by the Library of Congress, this project collects oral histories from veterans and digitizes archival documents. The project covers World War I through the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. (The George Sutherland Archives also has veterans' oral histories.)
