Authors write for many different reasons. They may write to inform or to persuade or to entertain. The author's purpose may affect the quality of the information.
  • Informative sources are written to present facts.
  • Argumentative sources are written to sway readers. They are biased and may distort information.
  • Entertaining sources are written to amuse or interest readers. They may be biased or sensationalized.
