4.3 Citing Sources in APA

APA is another style for citations, and it’s frequently used in the social sciences and sciences. There are a few differences between APA and MLA style:
  • The date is always listed second in APA.
  • The author's first and middle names are always written as initials.
  • In book and article titles, only the first word of the title and subtitle plus proper nouns are capitalized.

Fisher, M. (2007). Something in the air: Radio, Rock and the revolution that shaped a generation. New York: Random House. Author is Fisher. Publication date is 2007. Title of book is Something in the air: radio, rock, and the revolution that shaped a generation. Publication place is New York. Publisher is Random House.
Articles
Temperley, D., & de Clercq, T. (2013). Statistical analysis of harmony and melody in rock music. Journal of New Music, 42(3), 187-204. doi:10.1080/09298215.2013.788039. Author is Temperley.
