Using Citations

When I'm doing research, I learned that I can use the bibliographies in my articles and books to locate other sources by following the research steps I showed you in module 3. I first need to determine if the citation is for a book or an article, and then I follow these steps to locate it:

For books:

search library for book. If we have it get the call number and find on shelf. If we don't have it request the book via interlibrary loan.

For articles:

Search journals by title for the journal your article appeared in. If we have it do we have the year you need. If yes then use the volume and issue number to track down the article. If we don't ahve the article or the year needed then request it via interlibrary loan.
