Starting a Topic

By the time I start to do the serious research, I will need a research question. A research question will focus my efforts and make both my research and writing easier. For example, if I wanted to research how to grow a business using golf, I might ask the following questions as I brainstormed what I wanted to know:
  • How can golf be used to increase client base?
  • What are the advantages and challenges of taking clients golfing?
  • How can I use golf to read a client?

I can then use these ideas to create my focused research question. Here's an example of one I could use:

EXAMPLE: How can a business use golf to get more clients?
