Who is our support staff?

Administrative Assistant - Laurie Toro

Administrative Assitant Laurie Toro

Who is She?

Laurie grew up in California and lived in NYC for several years before settling here in Utah. She received her B.A. in English from UVU, with as emphasis in literature and is currently working on her Master's in Community Leadership (MACL). Laurie is fascinated by and loves to research the way language, culture and media formulate our perceptions of the world around us. She is also incredibly passionate about all forms of art and can be found at galleries, museums, plays, concerts, reading a good book or with friends and family during her free time.

What Does She Do?

As the department’s administrative support, Laurie is available to answer questions about 0890/1000 classes (days, times, locations), instructors, schedules, etc. If she doesn’t have the answer to your question she will certainly try to find it and/or point you in the right direction of who can. She, however, is unable to provide you with personal information about professors (e.g. cell phone numbers, personal email address(es), home address, etc.), demographics of a particular class, or register students. Registration assistance is done through the academic adviser.

How Can I Contact Her?

If you need to get in touch with Laurie you may use any of the following:

Office: LA 234a

Email: ltoro@uvu.edu

Phone: 801-863-6387

Anything Else?

Please remember that while Laurie can often be found in her office, meetings, lunch, and other obligations sometimes take her away from her desk. If you need to see her at a very specific time it would be best to contact her in advance to make an appointment. She is also aware that sometimes professors ask their students to drop papers/portfolios, etc. off or pick things up from her office. She is happy to accommodate those requests, just be mindful that those things need to be done during her office hours, which are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
