Summer 2023 Math Refresher Workshops
 

Registration opens February 6th and closes Thursday May 4th at 5:00pm MDT

The Math Refresher Workshops at Utah Valley University are primarily designed for students who have been away from mathematics for two or more years.

UVU students wanting to take MATH 1050 or above who have expired pre-requisites (course grade or placement test score more than two years old) will encounter a prerequisite error when attempting to register for subsequent math courses. Math Refresher Workshop registration, together with a C or better in the prerequisite course(s), can be used as temporary eligibility for MATH courses.

Within two business days after workshop registration, an advisor will enter a system override allowing UVU students to register for the desired math course.

Students are responsible for their own UVU course registration; participation in the workshops does not guarantee a seat in the course.

The workshop can be used as placement one time only; if you do not earn a C- or higher in your Summer MATH course, you will need to either repeat the prerequisite course or establish placement in the course with the ALEKS placement test.

Students using the workshops for placement must attend every session of their scheduled workshop, arriving on time and actively participating the entire session, in order to maintain placement. Students who do not attend or actively participate every session, who arrive late or leave early, or who are otherwise disruptive to the educational experience of other students will have their prerequisite override revoked and be administratively withdrawn

The Math Refresher Workshops are course specific and can only be used as placement for the course and semester listed.

*If you wish to take MATH 1080, MATH 1090, or MATH 2000 using a refresher workshop, please contact a math advisor as soon as you complete registration to receive the proper override.

Students are responsible for knowing the date, time, and location of their workshop, these workshops are IN PERSON

There is a non-refundable $1 cancellation fee for all workshops. It is recommended that students unable to register for their desired Summer course by May 2nd, 2023 contact:
