As your student makes their way through the next couple of years, there are many decisions to be made. UVU will be a valuable stepping stone as your student engages in lifelong learning and personal success.

We recognize the importance of helping your student keep on track when it comes to school. Whether your student is counting down the days until leaving or the days until returning, we’ve laid out everything you and your student need to know to avoid big gaps between feeling better and school.

We know it can be frustrating to miss the semester only to sit around until the next one begins several months later. We know that the timing doesn’t always match up just right in the mix of coming and going. And we know how tough that is on both students and their parents. With UVU’s block classes starting about every seven weeks, students can get a jump-start on school or jump right back in without losing any time.

Click through from our Medical Leave homepage to the part of the process of helping your student succeed. Whether coming, going, or stepping out for medical reasons, we’ve mapped out the things your student will need to stay on track with school. Because we recognize the importance of keeping focused, we’ve included resources and information to make this process the least invasive we can for your student.

These resources include instructions for releasing your student’s information so you are able to act in their behalf, instructions for applying and registering your student, and tips and stories from actual students and their parents who have been where you’re standing now.

Use these resources to help your missionary transition gracefully between their religious service and their experience in higher education. Follow the steps as outlined for a seamless integration back into real life from your medical leave. And please don’t hesitate to contact us here at UVU. We’re happy to work with you to get your missionary in the right place at the right time.
