UVU Land Acknowledgment
Utah Valley University acknowledges that we gather on land which is sacred to all indigenous people who came before us in this vast crossroads and is furthermore committed to working in partnership with Utah’s Native Nations, composed of the Navajo Nation, San Juan Southern Paiute, Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, Uintah & Ouray Reservation of the Northern Ute, Skull Valley Goshute, Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation, Northwestern Band of Shoshone Nation, and our urban Indian communities through education, and community outreach activities. We recognize their continued relationship with their traditional homelands, mountains, rivers, and lakes. We honor their physical presence, their sovereign governments, their presence here in spirit, and their memory, in our reverence for their resilience in preserving their connections to the Creator.
