PRESIDENT'S LETTER
MATTHEW S. HOLLAND

I AM CONTINUALLY INSPIRED BY THE CONTRIBUTIONS of our faculty and staff. This evening it is my pleasure to formally recognize a few of our employees whose dedicated service is illustrative of so many across campus who carry out their responsibilities with tremendous energy and excellence. This is just one of the ways - though a particularly visible and meaningful way - that the University strives to make sure such marvelous efforts do not go unnoticed. As a result, I consider this one of the most important University events of the year.

A warm welcome, then, to all who are joining us this evening to celebrate accomplishments that are truly noteworthy and memorable, performed by those who make UVU what it is - a grand, transformative force in the lives of thousands of students. Best,

JULIE ANDERSON
Assistant Director, UVU Foundation - Development and Alumni Relations

PRESIDENTIAL AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Efficiency & Effectiveness

JULIE ANDERSON CALLS HERSELF "A LOCAL GIRL." From Orem, she has been Human Resource Manager at Domo, Inc., an office manager for Corda Technologies, Inc., a project manager for MWS Agency, and a marketing coordinator for Novell & WordPerfect. She says she enjoys the sense of community at UVU: "I've watched this institution grow, change and morph since 1981, when my husband began coaching the UTC men's basketball team. His association with UVU continued until his death in 2011. It was as if I'd come home when I accepted my position at the university. While it may be considered a bubble to many people, it is the best kind of bubble you would want to be in, one where there is abiding love and a family-oriented environment." She has eight grandchildren, all adorable, of course, and enjoys gardening and going to athletic events.
