Dr. Matthew S. Holland, president of Utah Valley University, announced on November 6, 2017, that he has been called to serve as a mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints starting in July 2018. He will continue to serve as UVU president through early June 2018.

The Board of Regents commenced a national search in November with the intention of having a new president named by June 2018.  Under state law, the Board of Regents is charged with appointing new presidents for Utah’s public colleges and universities.

Announcements and updates to the national search will be posted on this website throughout the process.

Two public meetings were held in the Science Building Auditorium on November 28, 2017, to obtain feedback on the content of the presidential position announcement. Even though the meetings have concluded, all UVU faculty, staff, and students, community members, and anyone else interested in this presidential search may still submit comments online.

Census data show that Utah County grew by an estimated 75,000 people from 2010-2016. Utah Valley University is one of the largest employers in Utah County. For every dollar the state invests in UVU, the University returns eight dollars to the state economy.

Museums, festivals, events, restaurants, shopping, and multiple cultural and religious attractions are just a few of Utah Valley’s hidden gems.

From marathons to hiking, skiing to fly fishing, Utah's four distinct seasons offer a variety of activities year-round. UVU’s central location means the national parks, professional sporting events, and concerts are parts of UVU’s backyard.
