Before returning to academia, Dr. Rhoads spent over 18 years in strategy and sales performance consulting.  He has gained a unique blend of senior level sales and consulting as well as strategic planning experience.  Rhoads’ work with Fortune 500 companies specializes in sales strategy development and execution.  Through his career, he has worked with clients such as BCG, Bayer, ExxonMobil, Hunt Oil, HP, StorageTek, NASDAQ, Prudential, Lucent Technologies, and MasterCard Worldwide. 

He is a certified sales trainer with emphases in professional sales skills, account management, sales coaching/leadership, and sales negotiations.   He has taught professional sales courses in over 25 different countries around the world to executives in a variety of industries such as oil & gas, financial services, medical products, technology, and professional services.  

In 2009, Rhoads returned to the University of Oklahoma where he received his Ph.D. and worked with local businesses and entrepreneurs to develop go-to-market strategies to increase sales and firm growth. He has been a member of the UVU Business Faculty since 2012.
