Dr. Andrew Stone began working at UVU in 2006 as the Program Director of New Student Orientation and Advisor to UVUSA Academic Senate and Independent branch.  As a former student involved with student leadership, Andrew was thrilled for the opportunity to work with the Utah Valley University Student Associate as a full-time employee.  For newly four years, Andrew supported student leaders to develop initiatives and programs to enrich student involvement and promote engaging opportunities for students.

In 2010, Dr. Stone moved to the Office of the Commissioner at the Utah System of Higher Education as the Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Higher Education.  Working with the Commissioner, Andrew partnered with Utah institutions to develop the first Complete College Utah conference focusing on state and institutional initiatives to improve retention and completion. With the retirement of the Commissioner of Higher Education, Andrew returned to UVU as the Assistant Director of Admissions. With a commitment to student success and improving the process for students admitting to UVU, Dr. Stone worked for a year as the Assistant Director and two years as the Director of Admissions.

In 2015, Dr. Stone was appointed the Assistant Vice President for Recruitment & Outreach and in 2017 was promoted to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.  In this role he has dedicated his time to ensuring student access, efficient processes, and overall student success at UVU.  During his first year he worked with others on campus to engage in a campus-wide review of the student onboarding process.  This review has led to numerous projects and improvements to the process of students onboarding, from recruitment to registration.

Andrew is committed to the open admission mission of UVU.  He enjoys working at an institution where students from all backgrounds and experiences can come and find success.  As an underprepared college student himself, UVU has opened countless doors and opportunities which may not have been available to Dr. Stone, had he not found his place at UVU as a freshman back in 2003.

Andrew received a Bachelors degree from Utah Valley State College in 2008, Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah in 2010, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah in 2014.
