I'm Jamie Shawn Hardman and I work in the Deaf Studies Department as a Lecturer, teaching Interpreting courses. I have degrees from Salt Lake Community College (AA) in ASL/English Interpreting, Utah Valley University (BA) in Deaf Studies, and Gallaudet University (MA) in Deaf Studies: Language and Human Rights. I am a certified interpreter holding the EIPA, Utah: Professional, and NIC certificates to work nationally and statewide in American Sign Language/Spoken English environments.

My main focus as a lectuerer here is to provide topnotch interpreting education to students along with my colleagues and to perpare them for state and national testing to become certified interpreters. My second role at UVU is coordinating internships for all Deaf Studies and Interpreting majors. On my personal website, you can find more information on internship, practice information for testing, information about UVU internship process, as well as faculty, and former students in our program at http://jamiehardman.wixsite.com/uvuaslinterns.
