Vance Gough joined the Strategic Management and Operations Department at Utah Valley University's Woodbury School of Business in 2014.  His specialty area is Entrepreneurship.  He previously taught at both Mount Royal University’s Bissett School of Business and the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business. He graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA in Public Policy, an MBA (with triple majors in Enterprise Development, Marketing and Finance) and an Ed.D in Adult Learning.  His dissertation research topic was optimal teaching methods for Entrepreneurship at the post-secondary level.  He continues to research in this area.  Gough was nominated for teaching excellence awards in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2012.  He was awarded the national Faculty Advisor of the Year for SIFE (now Enactus) in 2004.  Gough founded the Prairie Mill Bread Company in 1996.  It was named one of the Top Ten bakeries in Canada by Homemaking Magazine in 1999.  He grew the artisan bakery to three retail stores and 35 employees before selling it in 2002.  Gough previously served 23 years as an Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy.  He is married to Marnie and they have five children.
