Xanthe Farnworth and her husband run a successful small business, which they started in 1984. She spent 20+ years with the Orem Public Library, serving in various capacities. Xanthe earned an A.S. degree from UVSC, a B.A. degree in English with a minor in editing from Brigham Young University (BYU), and an M.A. in English with an emphasis in rhetoric and composition from BYU.

Before coming to UVU, she taught FY writing, honors writing, independent study, and technical communication courses at BYU, and she served a four-year appointment as a visiting faculty member. Her research focuses on visual rhetoric.

At the present time, Xanthe teaches Written Business Communication and is the Writing Initiative Coordinator for the Woodbury School of Business. She serves on the Written Business Communication Textbook Committee, leads an assessment rubric investigative team, and collaborates with colleagues researching resumes under the auspices of the UVU Vivint Neuromarketing SMART Lab.
