Background

Dr. Basil Hamdan is an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at the College of Technology & Computing, Utah Valley University (UVU). Prior to joining UVU, Dr. Hamdan held academic positions at Virginia State University, Miami University, and Virginia Commonwealth University where he taught cybersecurity, digital forensics, and information systems courses.

Dr. Hamdan’s teaching and research interests include: information security and assurance, information security risk management and measurement, information systems control and audit, and digital forensics and e-discovery. Over the years, Dr. Hamdan has authored several research papers which he presented at regional, national, and international conferences and symposiums including three of the most prestigious conferences in Information Systems, namely ICIS, AMCIS, and SAIS. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and is a frequent reviewer for academic journals and conferences; especially in the area of information security and assurance.
