Curriculum Vitae
Last Updated: 2/6/19 -

I am a Professional in Residence in the Department of Technology Management at Utah Valley University.  I joined UVU in July 2016.  Previously, I worked in the computer hardware and electronics industry including 23 years for Hewlett-Packard Company (now HP Inc.) where I managed engineering research and development programs for ink-jet printers and related technologies.

I am passionate about learning and am interested in all types of technology and the social and ethical issues that surround them.  I especially enjoy engineering research and development programs and seeing diverse technologies come together to change our lives for the better.

I respect and appreciate cultural differences.  I enjoy learning and experiencing culture in all its forms, though, I would say trying new foods is my favorite cultural experience!  I hope my students will begin to see the world through different cultural viewpoints and learn that cultural differences can enrich us and give us new perspectives.

My wife and I have three grown children who are now beginning families of their own. We love the title of "grandparent" and spending time with our grandchildren.  We try to stay active and engaged.  My wife and I enjoy travel, exploring the outdoors, biking, running/walking, gardening, and reading a good book.  Prior to moving to Utah, we lived in Barcelona, Spain and Corvallis, Oregon.

Educational Background

I have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Statistics, from Brigham Young University.  I have nearly three decades of real-world experience from outside the university through my work in the electronics industry.  I strive to bring real world examples to help in-class learning.
