Tammy Riddle Christensen has been teaching French at Utah Valley University since 2000. She earned her BA and MA in French Studies from Brigham Young University where she also previously taught. Her teaching spans all levels of French, from first-year to advanced courses in literature and grammar, as well as French film history. Beginning in 2008, Tammy has directed UVU’s French Study Abroad program to Nice, Paris, and the Loire Valley. In 2013, Tammy recieved UVU's Faculty Senate Adjunct of the Year Award. She also advises UVU’s student-led French Club.
Her dream circle of friends would be Guillaume Apollinaire, Marc Chagall, Claude Debussy, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Irène Némirovsky, Krzysztof Kieslowski, and Agnès Varda. Her aim in teaching is to instill a lasting passion for French language and culture extending well beyond the walls of the classroom and long after the university diploma.
