Ashley Kimsey was a member of Capital Funk, George Washington Universities collegiate competitive hip hop team. That year, the team took 1st at the East Coast Dance Competition. In 2008 they took 2nd place at Prelude in New Jersey. She then got involved with a dance convention called Monsters of Hip hop, winning a scholarship and traveling to multiple conventions. She then auditioned and joined the professional hip hop troupe, Culture Shock D.C. She danced with them traveling from New York to San Diego, also performing for a Ludacris Concert. She then had the opportunity to join a crew called Ur Mother performing at Monsters of Hip Hop, that year she was also a part of a crew called GnC where she got to perform at the Pre-show for the East Coast Dance Competition. She then had the opportunity to be a part of a Bollywood music video by Artistry Films. Ashley graduated from the George Washington University with a BA in Dance. She made top 8 in Utah’s All Style Battle, Choreographed for Lagoons Summer Rock Show. She also had the opportunity to choreograph for a government commercial in 2014 and also set choreography on multiple high schools. Throughout the years, Ashley has been privileged to judge prestigious battles and dance competitions. She now resides in Orem teaching Hip Hop at Utah Valley University. She is also the Founder and Director of Mos.A.I.C, UVU’s Hip Hop Company which was established in 2012. The company is in its 4th year, performing at local and UVU events and has their annual Hip Hop Show March 23rd and 24th in the Ragan Theater.
