What a Degree Will Do For You

This program is designed for professionals who have completed an AAS degree from an accredited body other than UVU and are a RRT. Our supportive RRT to BSRT degree advancement program allows you to plan an advanced education journey plan based upon your own work, family and personal commitments.

With the BS Respiratory Therapy you earn online, you will set yourself up for success now and in the future. Many organizations continue to set higher standards for respiratory therapists. Earning this degree will ensure you have the right training and education to meet the demands of the growing healthcare industry and promote leadership in respiratory care.

Further expand your educational and clinical competence as you develop advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and versatility. Engage in the theoretical, practical, and clinical aspects of adult, pediatric, and neonatal respiratory care. Gain a well-rounded and in-depth knowledge base of respiratory clinical science and its application in healthcare as well as demonstrate awareness of the integrated nature and complexities of the healthcare systems and their impact on individuals and the local and national community.

Utah Valley University is currently in the process of seeking CoARC accreditation for a Respiratory Care program. However, Utah Valley University can provide no assurance that accreditation will be granted by the CoARC.

Career Growth

Many organizations are requiring respiratory therapists to have a bachelor’s degree. Earning this degree will ensure you have the right training and education  to expand your responsibilities into areas of management, research, education, leadership.
