 A-Frames

General Information

Exterior A-frames may only be used to:

  • Advertise an upcoming event or deadline that is held on a UVU campus
  • Advertise an upcoming event that is sponsored by university organizations or members of the university community
  • Provide directions to either of the previous categories.

The sponsors of the events must submit the A-frames with signage attached to Campus Connection for placement and removal.

Interior same-day A-frames can be placed and taken down by the organization that requires them. The posters being placed on the A-frames must still be approved by Campus Connection and must be brought more than 24 hours before your event.

Cost

There is a $25 placement fee for exterior A-frames that must be paid when the frames are dropped off at Campus Connection. This includes both advertising and same-day A-frames.

To Rent A-Frames

If your organization does not have access to the physical A-frames, they can be rented from Campus Connection for a deposit of $25. If your organization returns the A-frames in the appropriate time your deposit will be returned to you.

If the rented A-frames are not returned within the appropriate time frame the $25 deposit will be forfeited. If any of the rented A-frames are lost or damaged the $25 dollar deposit will be forfeited and a replacement fee will also be charged.

Size/Number

Posters that are placed on A-frames can be up to 24 inches by 36 inches. Please keep in mind that any posters designed for A-frames rented from Campus Connection can only be 12 inches by 24 inches.

A maximum of 12 A-frames can be rented from Campus Connection for any event.

Interior A-frames can be placed at 9 locations.

Exterior A-frames meant to advertise for two weeks can be placed at a maximum of 5 spaces.

Same day interior A-frames can be placed outside of the event location, but must not be more than 2 feet away from the wall, including the A-frame's dimensions. 

Same day exterior A-frames can be placed at up to 13 locations.

Time Frame

Exterior A-frame signage can be placed for up to 2 weeks.

Exterior same-day A-frame signage:

  • Will be placed no earlier than the night before, and should be taken down the day after.
  • Both placement and removal will be done by Campus Connection.
  • These A-frames can be picked up from Campus Connection 24 hours after your event.

Interior same-day A-frame signage:

  • Must be placed and taken down by your organization on the day of your event. If your event spans several days, the A-frames must be taken down after the events of the last day.
  • If your signage is for an event that is reoccurring on a weekly basis, the design can be approved for up to two months. The posters will then need to be brought back to Campus Connection but can only be approved for additional two weeks. If the duration of your weekly event is longer than 2 1/2 months the design will need to be changed. These new designs can be approved once more for 2 months, then 2 weeks.

Interior Banners

General Information

You must talk to Campus Connection about the the following information:

  • To be assigned a location where your banners can be hung.
  • To give provide contact information for your organization including a name and valid e-mail address.
  • To provide your index code that can be charged if any fines are incurred.

Cost

You must talk to Campus Connection to give your index code for a $25.00 deposit and an e-mail of the contact person for your organization.

Additional Cost Info

  • Banners hung in locations other than those assigned to you will cause a $25 fine to be charged to your account.
  • Failure to remove the banners after your event will cause a $25 fine to be charged to your account.
  • If your organization violates the above procedures three times, your organization will lose the right to hang banners for a period of six months.

Size/Number

  • No more than two banners may be posted for any upcoming announcement, deadline, or event.
  • Banner size can be no larger than 24 in. x 60 in. (2 ft. x 5 ft.)

Time Frame

Banners cannot be hung longer than two weeks prior to an event/deadline.

Exterior Banners

Banners placed in outdoor locations may only be used to:

  • Advertise an upcoming event or deadline that is held on a UVU campus
  • Advertise an upcoming event that is sponsored by university organizations or members of the university community
  • Provide directions to either of the previous categories

Cost

A $25 fee will be required per event

Size/Number

  • Restricted in size to 36-inch by 72-inch and must be in vinyl to be able to withstand high winds.
  • No more than two banners are permitted per event unless approved by Dean of Students Office

    • Posting dates
    • Reason for needing to post at the additional locations
    • Event information

 Directional Signage

Directional signage includes any Indoor or Outdoor signage that needs placed the day of your event to help direct your attendees to the location of your event. This includes but is not limited to exterior lawn signs, exterior and interior A-frames, and any interior posters.

Time Frame

All directional signage needs to be at Campus Connection a minimum of 24 hours before it needs to be placed for your event.

Additional Instructions

  • All interior directional signage will be placed by the hosts of the event, but all exterior directional signage will be placed by Campus Connection.
  • Exterior signs can be retrieved from Campus Connection approximately 24 hours after your event.

 Lawn Signs

Lawn signs may only be used to:

  • Advertise an upcoming event or deadline that is held on a UVU campus
  • Advertise an upcoming event that is sponsored by university organizations or members of the university community
  • Provide directions to either of the previous categories

Cost

A $25.00 placement fee is assessed per event

Due to the nature of lawn signs being exterior signage, please keep in mind that these signs may become damaged by rain, high winds, or snow if placed during the winter.

Size/Number

  • Lawn Signs are 24 in. x 18 in. corrugated signs installed with an H-stick
  • Maximum of 18 lawn signs are allowed per event

Time Frame

Lawn signs can be retrieved from Campus Connection approximately 24 hours after your event, or your two week allotment has expired.

Location(s)

The sponsors of the events must submit both the Lawn Signs and the H-sticks to Campus Connection for placement and removal. The Campus Connection staff will be installing the lawn signs  at the following locations, dependent on the number of lawn signs provided, and the number of existing lawn signs at that location.

By law, no lawn signs are allowed on the roundabout. It is considered a safety hazard and is not permissible.
