Submission Guidelines For Authors - Healthcare and Leadership

We invite you to submit relevant papers from your research, academic or personal study, or coursework. Your submission should be original work that has not been published previously.  We do not accept material that is currently being considered by another journal.

  • Manuscripts may be 1200-2500 words (about 5 to 10 pages in length or longer if approved by the editors). Articles should be written in 12-point type font with one-inch margins and double-spaced, and include at least a half-dozen recent (last 5 years) academic, scholarly, or reputable sources.

  • Include an abstract of 100-150 words.

  • Do not include any personally identifying information on your submission document (e.g. no first and last, course, professor names). Be sure to check your document properties to be sure that all identifying information is removed. This helps ensure our double-blind review process. Here's a quick tutorial on how to check your document properties!
  • We favor cogent papers that tend to have shorter, simpler sentences.

  • It is recommended that submissions include references in APA Format.

  • Submit your Paper (according to guidelines on this page):

    1. Fill out the JSL Submission form for the Special Issue on Healthcare and Leadership[This opens up a Qualtrics Form]
    2. Email your "blinded" paper (no identifying author names in the paper itself) in MS Word format (.doc,.docx) to JOSL@uvu.edu

***We expect authors will not submit their same papers to other journals during our review process. Papers that are accepted for publication undergo a detailed revision process, and authors are expected to work closely with editorial staff to address external reviewer and staff recommendations.
