The SLAM conference features student experts and student leaders as they share their passions, stories and their voices from a variety of engaging topics. The purpose is to educate and inspire individuals on topics that are beneficial and relevant to students today, but not taught in the traditional classroom environment.

Creating a Proposal

Submit a proposal for the SLAM Conference no later than Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at 11:59 PM. We will notify you by January 11th, 2019 of your consideration to present. Further information will be provided at that time.

The proposal should include

  • Title of Presentation
  • Full name
  • Current Position (i.e., student, staff, administrator, etc.)
  • Affiliated Institution
  • Contact Information
  • 3 Keywords that best describe the subject of your submission

What is SLAM Conference?

SLAM is a leadership conference put on by students for students. The purpose is to educate and inspire individuals on topics that are beneficial and relevant to students today.

When/where is it?

This conference will be held on February 23, 2019 from 8:30 AM- 3:00 PM. It will be located in the Sorensen Center at Utah Valley University.

Who can present?

Only university students are allowed to present. However speakers will be selected by the SLAM Conference committee, after having gone through the application process.

Who can attend?

Anyone is welcome to attend. Our target audience is aimed towards university students who are seeking to learn more about themselves and develop leadership skills.

What qualifications should presenters have?

The only requirement to present is to be a current college student who has developed leadership skills in one form or another. This does not only pertain to academic leadership, but just being a leader in general.

Will food be provided?

There will be a 45-minute lunch break from 12:15-1:00 pm, courtesy of the university. Snacks will be available throughout the duration of the conference. Breakfast will not be provided.

Do I need to stay the whole time?

You are not required to stay for the entire conference, although full attendance is encouraged.
