We are thrilled to announce the creation of the Environmental Initiatives Hub at the Center for Social Impact with Dr. Hilary Hungerford as creator and inaugural faculty director. This project is funded by a UVU Civics Thought & Leadership grant.

The Environmental Initiatives Hub will promote engaged learning opportunities around environmental issues in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting to develop environmental citizenship, literacy, and sustainable solutions for Utah Valley. The EIH will work to inspire and prepare the next generation of thinkers, designers, and policy makers for Utah’s environment through meaningful, engaged, environmental work.

The Environmental Initiatives Hub will be both inward and outward facing. Internally, the hub will work to connect stakeholders across campus to develop creative, interdisciplinary projects related to environmental sustainability. In addition, the hub will serve as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including city and county governments, individual citizens, K-12 educators, and anyone looking to connect with initiatives across the university to promote wider environmental citizenship and sustainable environmental solutions.

We currently have calls for faculty fellows, projects related to environmental issues, and student positions (these will be posted soon).
