The Academic Counseling Center can guide your progress in discovering, evaluating and determining your career path. Comprehensive career services include testing, one-on-one career counseling sessions and access to research sites. Counselors also advise students who are still exploring major options.

Student Health Services offers medical services, wellness services, suicide prevention programs, learning disability testing and mental health services (including counseling for stress, relationships, and test anxiety).

The wellness programs at UVU provide services to students and employees that enhance personal wellness. The programs offer healthy lifestyle counseling, fitness testing, health screenings and wellness workshops.

UV "You Can" Food Pantry | LC 409 | 801-863-8786

Food Pantry

The UV "You Can" Food Pantry is an on-campus food pantry for UVU students who are facing food insecurity. Students must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits during the fall/spring semesters to be eligible.

SLSS 1100: Stress Management — Hardiness: Presents strategies for developing effective attitudes and skills to deal with stressful circumstances. The five main areas of focus for the course are coping skills, communication/social support, relaxation, nutrition and exercise.

Learning Assistance & Tutoring

Learning Strategies Support can help you with time management, test anxiety, test-taking skills, note-taking skills and reading textbooks.

Academic Tutoring Lab | LA 201 | 801-863-5376

The Academic Tutoring Lab provides free tutoring to UVU students in the lab or by appointment. Drop in for homework questions or make appointments for regular, private tutoring. Tutoring is available for the following subjects: accounting, anthropology, archaeology, astronomy, biology/botany, business management, chemistry, digital media, education, economics, engineering, environmental, geography, geology, history, health, languages, legal studies, meteorology, microbiology, philosophy, physical science, physics, political science, psychology, sociology and zoology.

The lab can also arrange tutoring in any course across campus.

The Language Lab provides free tutoring for students enrolled in foreign language classes. The Language Lab has tutors available for the following foreign languages: American Sign Language, Chinese, French, Japanese, German, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Tutoring is by appointment only.

The Math Lab is a great place to work on math homework in a setting where tutors can answer questions as they arise. The Math Lab serves students in all math classes.

Both the Writing Center and the Online Writing Lab can help you further your understanding of writing principles and enhance your writing skills. You can request help for any part of the writing process, from brainstorming to revision.

The School Community University Partnership provides one-on-one tutoring for a minimal fee.

Fulton Library | 801-863-8265

The library offers a variety of spaces and state-of-the-art technology, creating an inviting research and study environment. Use one of more than 220 public computers to conduct research, write papers or produce multimedia projects. Group study and viewing rooms can be scheduled to work on projects or watch videos. A family study room is also available, allowing children to play while parents work on assignments. Librarians are available at the reference desk to help with research and project questions.

Financial Resources

UVU offers a comprehensive and varied program of financial assistance, including grants, loans, work study programs and scholarships. There are three types of financial aid:

Gift Aid: These programs are funded by government and private monies. They do not have to be repaid and are awarded upon a wide range of eligibility requirements. Gift aid includes scholarships and grants.

Work Study Programs: These programs are funded by state and federal monies and include an hourly wage, which comes in part from the employer and in part from the program. These programs do NOT need to be repaid.

Loans: All loans have to be repaid, though student loans often have interest rates below standard loan rates. Some are repayable immediately, while others defer monthly payments until after graduation. Some student loans can be awarded even if the calculated financial need deems the student ineligible for other forms of aid.

Students may go to BA 106 to meet with a Financial Aid Counselor during regular business hours. Appointments are available on a first come, first served basis only.

As a UVU student you are eligible for an Enterprise UVU BOX account (cloud-based storage). To setup your UVU Box account please follow the instructions found on our website. We hope you enjoy and use your UVU Box account.

Free Software

UVU offers a variety of free software for students, including Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud. Download links are available on the “Technology Services and Support” page under the STUDENTS tab on myUVU.

Our coaches are students in the Personal Financial Planning Program that have additional training in order to become volunteers in the center. We offer free, confidential, peer-to-peer counseling for students, faculty, and community members. Our areas of focus are teaching how to budget and track expenses, build credit, and understand their debt and student loans.

The Multicultural Center promotes educational opportunities and intercultural enrichment for diverse-heritage students and the university community. UVU’s deferred admission program encourages future students to apply to UVU now, but enroll in courses later. If you’re a current student, meaning you have already enrolled in at least one class at UVU, this is called a leave of absence. If you need to take some time away from your studies, be it for a humanitarian or religious mission, military service, health reasons, financial- or employment-related issues, or family responsibilities, please contact the Leave of Absence Office.

The UVU Wee Care Center was designed to meet the child care needs of student parents of UVU, MATC, and Turning Point. First priority is given to low-income students. All services are based on a sliding scale. Quality care is provided to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
