Kylee Parke chose UVU because of its welcoming atmosphere and emphasis on student success. “This university is for hardworking dreamers,” she says. “I have such a sense of belonging here; every day I step on campus I feel like I am coming home.”
Serving on the Student Alumni Association for three years helped Kylee gain confidence, and this year she was elected president. She has also served as a Wolverine ambassador and completed the Center for the Advancement of Leadership program. As a first-generation college student, she appreciates the extra support that UVU provides to help students succeed. “UVU has shown me that I can be so much more than I ever thought I could,” she says. “I have mentors and teachers who can see so much of me that I am not able to see, and they have helped me grow in so many ways.”
Kylee looks forward to serving as a Foundation ambassador. “I am passionate about this university and its mission, and I want to share that with as many people as possible,” she says. “UVU has given me the opportunity for a higher education. Every person I have come in contact with here has helped me grow that much closer to the person I want to be. I will forever be a Wolverine.”
Kylee hopes to graduate with honors and attend graduate school. She’s considering several career tracks and keeping her options open.
