UVU Earth Week 2021 | April 17 - 24

Before Earth Week

  • Share your story. Students are encouraged to submit a short video showing discussing how the have engaged with sustainability and the environment at UVU. Submitted videos will be featured on the UVU Sustainability Instagram during Earth Week and submitting students will be entered to win a prize from the UVU Sustainability Committee. Throughout Earth Week

Saturday April 17th 

  • 10 AM International Earth Day Canyon Clean Up and Planting. The Office for Global Engagement is partnering with Orem Rotary and UVU Rotaract for a Provo Canyon service project to clean up and beautify the area. Bring your enthusiasm and a pair of gardening gloves to Timpanogos Park (1 mile from the mouth of Provo Canyon). link here

Wednesday April 21st

  • 10 AM - 12 PM Tree Planting. Join the UVU Tree Advisory Committee and UVU Grounds to plant new trees on the west edge of campus. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening or work gloves. Meet by the base of the pedestrian bridge in lot L14. Sign up to plant trees here! 
  • 12 PM Taking Action: Life on Land. The Office for Global Engagement will facilitate a discussion on UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land. Representatives from the Orem Rotary and UVU Rotaract will discuss SDG 15, its relevance, implementation, and promotion. Thursday April 22nd (Earth Day)

  • 10 AM - 12 PM Tree Planting. Join the UVU Tree Advisory Committee and UVU Grounds to plant new trees on the west edge of campus. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening or work gloves. Meet by the base of the pedestrian bridge in lot L14. Sign up to plant trees here! 

Saturday April 24th 

  • 9:30 AM - 12 PM Global Earth Day at Slate Canyon. Join Conserve Utah Valley in helping to make immediate improvement at the Slate Canyon Trailhead through four projects to "Renew the Earth."
