How to create a Handshake profile:

  1. Profile Picture

    You must upload a professional photo of yourself.

  2. Make it Public

    Make your profile public, otherwise employers will be unable to see you.

  3. Education

    Update all your school information: Major, Minor, GPA, Graduation Date, etc.

  4. Short Bio

    Type or upload a URL for a short bio about your professional background. Ex: LinkedIn profile, business website link

  5. Work Experience

    Note: Upload your resume first (Step 7), it will automatically pull information from it.
    Input experience: Job title, Company, and a description of responsibilities

  6. Skills

    Update all your school information: Major, Minor, GPA, Graduation Date, etc.

  7. Documents

    Note: Upload your resume first (Step 7), it will automatically pull information from it.
    Input at least six skills either through resume upload or manually.

  8. Organizations/Extracurriculars

    This encompasses volunteer work, clubs, mission, etc.

  9. Social Links

    Select any professional social networking profiles

  10. Courses

    Listing courses can be helpful if pursuing internships that require certain classes to be taken.

  11. Projects

    Campaigns, fundraisers, papers, etc.
