Contact your Education Service Officer (ESO) if additional assistance is needed.
Eligible students receive: Up to the in-state tuition (fees are NOT covered), subject to an annual cap. FTA is
typically capped at a maximum of $250 per credit hour and $4000 annually. Specifics
may vary depending on the branch and specific student. If you would like to use FTA
concurrently with the Montgomery GI Bill® for Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606), you
must attend at least half-time. FTA may be requested as early as 60 days prior to the class start date, and must be both requested and approved at least 10 days prior to the class start date
(Military deadline).
Payment method: The approved amount of in-state tuition is directly applied to the student financial account.

Your Tuition Assistance Request (TAR) must be submitted, approved, and received by
UVU prior to the tuition deadline for the semester in order to prevent your classes

The UVU Veteran Success Scholarship was established in 2016 to benefit Utah Valley
University students who are either veterans or dependent children or spouses of veterans.
The scholarship is awarded in two categories: Merit-based (based upon academic performance)
and Needs-based.
The scholarship application period is October through January of each year, and the money awarded is then applied to the following fall and spring semesters. The amount awarded to recipients is $1,000. This money is split across the two semesters evenly, $500 to fall and $500 to spring.
The scholarship is designed to not interfere or penalize students who are also utilizing the GI Bill®. Eligibility requirements apply. Applications are to be completed on the UVU Scholarships website, as outlined in the steps on this page.
Application:
Work study contract length follows the start and end date of each semester.
This a Veterans Affairs (VA) program that employs eligible students to work in the
UVU Veteran Success Center. Work studies are VA employees but they work on UVU campus
to help students utilize their GI Bill®* benefits. Many of our work studies enjoy
this opportunity because our office tries to be flexible and accommodate their school
schedule when possible. In addition, our office is located on campus which makes it
convenient to move between work and classes. This program provides work studies an
opportunity to learn how their own benefit functions and to network and interact with
other military-connected people.
Who is Eligible? You are eligible if you are a full-time or a three-quarter time student in a college degree, vocational, or professional program and using GI Bill® benefits.
