Complete a VA online application after completing the questionnaire at vets.gov. You do not need to wait to be admitted to UVU to apply for benefits. To view which application is required for your Chapter benefit, and to view helpful tips before applying, visit our Student Forms page.
* It can take 4-8 weeks for the VA to process your request for GI Bill® benefits. You will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (Form 22-0557) from the VA by mail once your request is accepted. You may continue to complete the remaining steps while waiting for the VA to process your application.
Complete UVU Orientation and meet with an academic advisor. Then, view the required courses for your degree using the Wolverine Track feature. Wolverine Track can be accessed via the myUVU student web portal. Finally, register for classes on the myUVU system.
To view which forms are required for your Chapter benefit, visit the Student Forms page of this site. Submit the forms to the UVU Veteran Success Center and the VA according to the instructions on that page. Read all forms carefully. Note that the UVU Veteran Class Schedule Web Form is required every semester.
After the UVU Veteran Success Center receives ALL required forms, they will certify (submit) your UVU classes to the VA.
Arrangements will need to be made for payment of UVU Tuition and Fees by the deadline for the semester you are attending. Semester dates and deadlines can be viewed on the Student Timetables page.
If you are approved for the Post 9/11 GI Bill or the Vocational Rehabilitation program, you may obtain waivers to prevent courses being dropped or late fees if you submit all the required forms (per Step 6) before the deadlines.
