The History of Wee Care

Wee Care History

Utah Valley University (UVU) has been providing childcare to students since 2001. Originally, our services were offered in a small center off 400 West. However, as UVU continued to grow, it became clear that the Wee Care Center needed to expand as well.

In 2010, President and Mrs. Holland recognized that the need for services provided by the Wee Care Center had significantly outpaced the current facility. President and Mrs. Holland began sharing the stories of the student-parents with community members and hosting events with the hope of raising private funds for expansion.

The community responded with generous gifts, and on September 27, 2013, the Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation Wee Care Center officially opened its doors. Today, in its state-of-the-art facility, the Wee Care Center provides a safe haven for the children of UVU student-parents. While these parents are pursuing a better life
through education, they know their children are being cared for in a warm, inviting, and nurturing environment.
