Matt is a partner of Daniels Capital in Park City, Utah. Daniels Capital manages over $150 million in assets in the real estate private equity market. Daniels Capital’s investment portfolio consists of residential, commercial, and recreational properties located through out the United States. Prior to joining Daniels Capital, Matt managed a large portfolio of real estate assets, overseeing the successful acquisition, liquidation, and ongoing management of single-family, multi-family, and commercial properties. Matt received his finance degree from Utah Valley State College. He enjoys sports and family related activities. Matt and his wife Jordan reside in Springville, Utah, with their three children.
Brian has nearly 20 years of experience in sales and marketing. He is responsible for a half million dollar marketing campaign which has resulting in an increase product sales and business development. Brian has extensive experience in sales training, networking marketing, event planning, print and multi‑media marketing, and project leadership. He currently is the Manager of Marketing Incentives for Nature’s Sunshine Products, Inc in Provo Utah.
Brian serves as the past President of the School of Business Alumni chapter. He is also board member for the Alumni Association and the 2009 Alumni Pinnacle Award recipient. Brian began his experiences with UVU in 1988 as a student and achieved a BS in Business Management. His early involvement in the business club DECA and his summer co‑op work experience with Walt Disney’s World provided an unmatched learning opportunity while attending UVU.
Paul currently works for Associated Food Stores as a Senior Technology Account Specialist in the Retail Technology department. He oversees technology and works as a phone support supervisor. Paul is the 11-year-old Assistant Scout Master in his neighborhood. He likes to garden and work around the house. He graduated from UVU twice. Once in 1993 (at UVCC) with an AAS degree in the School of Business for International Business. He received a plaque in honor of being the first recipient of this new degree. It was at this time that UVCC became UVSC and he continued on to get his BS degree with emphasis on International Business in the School of Business. Paul currently resides with his wife and three children in South Ogden and makes the monthly commute to the Alumni board meetings because he loves the School and wants to help make a difference.
Louise has worked at UVU for ten years. She is the General Manager of the UVU Bookstore. She teaches College Success as an adjunct professor. Louise graduated in Finance from BYU and received an MBA from Utah State.
Jason graduated from UVSC in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management. In 2004 he became a Certified Purchasing Manager with the Institute for Supply Management. In his more than 13 years with Nature’s Sunshine Products he has developed a strong understanding of business operations by gaining experience in procurement, production, accounting and supply chain management. Jason is excited to be involved with the Alumni Board and looks forward to its continued growth and development.
Steve Teeter has been a professor in the School of Business at Utah Valley University for 20 years. Steve is an excellent teacher and a valuable member of the faculty of the School of Business. He received the Faculty Excellence Award for the School of Business for 2005-2006. He inspires the students to do well.
The School of Business was the first school on campus to have its own alumni chapter, and for the past eight years, Steve has served as the faculty advisor for that group. His enthusiasm, expertise, and strong support have been the most important factors in building this very successful organization. The chapter currently has a strong and active board that meets monthly, under Steve’s direction, to plan and implement events.
Steve works to recruit graduates into the School of Business Alumni Chapter. At graduation, the alumni board has a booth to welcome new alumni. Each graduate is given a tee shirt and an application to join the group. Steve also works with the athletics department to provide free tickets for students to basketball games. Again, his enthusiasm helps to engender the same enthusiasm among the students, who are the future alumni.
Blake Christensen graduated from UVSC in 1996, with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He currently serves as the past president of the UVU School of Business Alumni Association Chapter and heads up the product marketing department for Nature’s Sunshine Products, Inc in Provo, Utah.
Eric Graves is an experienced marketing and public relations professional with almost 15 years of experience in sales, marketing and customer relations. He currently holds the position of Director of International Marketing for Nature’s Sunshine Products. Eric also serves on the board of the Little Heroes Foundation, a 501(c) (3) based in Orem, Utah that works to improve the lives of children throughout the world. A graduate in Business Management from Utah Valley University, Eric has served on the alumni board of the Utah Valley University Woodbury School of Business for the last four years. He currently resides in Springville with his wife and their six children. Eric is a lifelong resident of Utah.
Linda is an alumni of Utah Valley State where she received her A.A.S. in Secretarial Science class of 1980, B.S. in Accounting class of 2003 (Summa Cum Laude). She is currently completing Master's in Public Administration class of 2007. She has worked 25 years at UVU. Her current position is Director of Budgets serving as a member of the President's Executive Council. Other UVU positions have included Secretary to the Dean of Business, Technician/Analyst for Associate Vice President of Academics, Budget Technician, and Associate Director of Budgets.
Linda likes travel, Swedish weaving, scrapbooking, BYU football. She is married to Mike Makin and they are proud parents of two daughters and one son-in-law. They became grandparents for the first time this past summer.
John Shoaf is currently an MBA student at Columbia Business School. Before he returned to graduate school, John was a senior associate at David N. Deutsch & Company, a Wall Street investment banking firm, where he was responsible for managing several M&A transactions and advising corporations/boards with respect to corporate finance and business strategy. He is also a co‑founder of the LDS Finance & Investment Association, and helped grow the organization into a global network of 700 investment professionals with local chapters in almost every major city around the world. After being admitted to Columbia, John organized the first Pre‑MBA World Tour for his entering class and led nearly 100 of his MBA classmates through 18 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He plans to spend his summer internship at American Express with the Corporate Development and Strategy team in NYC.
Prior to moving to NYC in 2005, John served as president of Perfect Grounds Corporation for seven years and held various positions at Dominion Insurance and BioMarkers International. John graduated from Utah Valley University in 2004.
Tami currently holds the position of Assistant to the Dean for Finance and Operations in the Woodbury School of Business. She has held this position since October of 2003 and has been employed at Utah Valley University since 1998. Her responsibilities include working directly with the Dean to plan, develop, and implement financial and operational policies and procedures for the Woodbury School of Business, working directly with Woodbury School of Business department chairs to ensure fiscal responsibility, analyzing and maintaining a balanced budget for the entire Woodbury School of Business, managing and supervising all awarding of Woodbury School of Business scholarships.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (2003), an Associate of Science degree in Information Technology-Administrative Information Management (2002), and an Associate of Applied Science in Business Communications and Office Technology (1999) from Utah Valley State College. She plans to begin course work this summer in preparation for entering an MBA program. Tami has served on various campus committees, serves as a member of the Woodbury School of Business administrative and executive teams, and serves as a member of the Woodbury School of Business Alumni Chapter Board. She was recipient of the UVSC Young Alumni Award in 2006.
Tami is married to Chris Jensen and has two children, age 5 and 2.
Managing Partner, Head of Investments and Research for National Capital Partners. Prior to co-founding the Firm, Mr. Norton was Partner of Nation West Capital Partners, a bridge capital firm and correspondent mortgage bank. Prior to Nation West Capital Partners, Mr. Norton was an Analyst for Daniels Capital Partners, a real estate private equity fund focused on the entitlement and development of raw land. Prior to Daniels Capital Partners, Mr. Norton founded MotiVox, customized VoIP Video Conferencing software for file sharing and online collaboration, evolving into a vetted MSDN Partner of Microsoft. Prior to MotiVox Mr. Norton consulted for Korea Petroleum via The Azena Group, an opportunity provided after being an interpreter for the Korean Olympic Committee during the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympics. Mr. Norton is responsible for deal selection, financial modeling, multivariate feasibility studies, portfolio analytics and optimization, transactional econometrics, with previous experience managing secondary market strategies through Trepp and Bloomberg terminals. Inclusively, Randy has atomized management tools -- along with underwriting and feasibility valuation processes -- for over $650 million (USD) in transactions and over $1 billion (USD) in asset management. Mr. Norton is a Member of the Alternative Investment Management Association, American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, Appraisal Institute, CAIA Association, CFA Institute, Institute of Real Estate Management, Mortgage Bankers Association, Pension Real Estate Association, Real Estate Investment Securities Association, Realtor Land Institute, Urban Land Institute, and was previously published in the Real Estate Finance Journal. After studying Korean and Business at Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management, Mr. Norton completed executive programs at the Harvard Business School-Graduate School of Design and Columbia Business School-Helibrunn Center for Graham & Dodd Investing.
Matt is the owner and general manager, Kneaders Bakery, Provo, Utah where he has increased profit margin of his store by approximately 19 percent per year and kept employee costs at 25 percent of sales. Matt is a current student at Utah Valley University in the Woodbury School of Business and will graduate this April with a Bachelor in Science degree in Business Management.
