    • The CFP exam is an important, industry-recognized certification for financial planners that gives our students a significant leg up in their job searches and in launching their careers. This first round, five WSB students took the exam, and four passed it for an 80% pass rate. The national average is somewhere around 60%.

Scholarships

 Don & Jeri Allphin Scholarship

  1. Recipient must be a full time non-traditional student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  2. Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.
  3. Preference will be given to students majoring in Business Management.

 Ameriprise Financial Services Annual Scholarship

  1. Financial Planning Quiz Bowl winners from UVU’s Financial Planning Program.
  2. Ameriprise will decide whether the top two students in the Quiz Bowl will receive $1,000 each,
  3. Or, the Ameriprise representative may select the top four to eight students to receive scholarships in amounts totaling $2,000.

 Banner Bank Endowed Scholarship

  1. Student(s) in the Woodbury School of Business.

 BYU Management Society – Utah Valley Chapter Scholarship

 
  1. Hometown in Utah County, Juab County, or Wasatch County.
  2. Full-time undergraduate student officially admitted to the Woodbury School of Business.
  3. Minimum GPA of 3.5.
  4. Multiple scholarship awards may be accepted as long as the total scholarship award amount (including this one) does not exceed full tuition and fees for the academic year.
  5. Demonstrate alignment with the mission and values of the BYUMS.
  6. Demonstrate great leadership and/or service.
Preference will be given to need-based students.

 Gerald G. (Jerry) Conder Memorial Endowed Scholarship

 Award to UVU student enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.

 Financial Seminar Annual Scholarship

 
  1. A continuing student, in the School of Business, with a previous semester cumulative GPA of 3.5. If the GPA is maintained the student may have the scholarship for up to four semesters.
  2. Should the GPA drop during a semester, as soon as the student again has a semester of 3.5 cumulative GPA for a subsequent semester, he or she may reapply.
  3. Preference is to be given to a single parent with custody of children (to be determined by the School of Business).
  4. The student will write a thank you letter to the Financial Aid Office who will forward the thank you letter to the donor.

 The Heather Johnson Finch Memorial Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Good academic standing, as determined by UVU.
  2. Applicant completed first year requirements of Paralegal Studies Program; on track toward completion of Program’s requirements (whether two or four year course of study).
  3. 3.0 GPA or higher.
  4. Applicant considered to be one of the top students in the Paralegal Studies Program; someone who has tremendous promise as a professional.
  5. Applicant cannot receive this Scholarship twice.
  6. Must show recent and ongoing community service.
  7. Interviewed by Selection Committee for the Scholarship (Committee includes a member representing the Division).
  8. Character assessment; high moral values.
  9. Applicant interested in involvement with the Paralegal Division of the Utah State Bar.
  10. Applicant is a leader among peers.

 Bryant F. Foulger Endowed Scholarship Fund

 
  1. Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.
Recipient must be a full-time student (12 to 18 credit hours) and maintain a 3.5 GPA.

 Brandon & Lacey Fugal Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Brandon and Lacey Fugal wish to establish an endowment at UVU to provide scholarships for students in the UVU Woodbury School of Business.
  2. At their discretion, the scholarship can also be provided to deserving students at UVU outside of the School of Business.
  3. Particular emphasis and focus will be on assisting those students who are aspiring business leaders but who do not meet criteria generally established or expected for scholarships or grants.

 Stephen W. Gibson Entrepreneurial Scholarship

 
  1. Award is to be made solely for students enrolled in UVU Entrepreneur Program or at least shown their interest in the field by taking a class in entrepreneurship.
  2. Top applications selected by college’s entrepreneurial committee in conjunction with the scholarship committee with the donor being on the final selection committee.
  3. If there are not a sufficient number of applications, the donor would prefer the money not be used, rather than used for students who have no interest in entrepreneurship.

 Nathan Jones and XLEAR UVU Marketing Mashup Competition Scholarship

 
  1. Recipients will be selected via a marketing plan competition (UVUMashup) hosted by UVU’s student chapter of the AMA where they will be asked to design a marketing plan specified by Xlear.
  2. Recipients must be full-time UVU students.
  3. Recipients must have GPA of 3.25 or higher.
  4. Recipients must meet the criteria of the CASE Competition

 KeyBank Scholarship Fund

 
  1. Recipients must be enrolled in the UVU Woodbury School of Business.
  2. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA or above and be a full-time student

 John C. Kish Foundation Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Recipient must be a full-time UVU student enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.
  2. Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
  3. Preference will be given to a student that is documented by the federally recognized Navajo tribe with a minimum 2.7 GPA.
  4. If a student from the Navajo tribe is not available, then award is available for another federally recognized tribe student if they meet the above criteria.
If there are no available candidates from federally recognized tribes then the scholarship may be awarded to any qualified student enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.

 Maxine Winterton Kroescher Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Recipients of the scholarship shall be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business at UVU’s main campus in Orem, Utah.
  2. Scholarship shall be awarded on academic excellence

 Jared and Melissa Mabey Family Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business in either:
  2. Personal Financial Planning (PFP),
  3. Marketing Program, or
  4. Business Management Program
  5. Recipient must be a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  6. Recipient must also be currently employed while attending school.

 Miles and Mary Morris Business Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Recipient must be a full-time student enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business at UVU.
  2. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

 Morris Personal Financial Planning Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Recipient must be a full-time student enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business Personal Financial Planning Program.
  2. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate his or her leadership.
  3. Financial need will be given consideration.

 Brady and Andrea Murray Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

 
  1. Full-time Woodbury School of Business student, enrolled in either Personal Financial Planning (PFP), Marketing Program, or Business Management Program.
  2. Minimum 3.0 GPA.

 The Ray and Tye Noorda Foundation Endowed Scholarship

 
  1. Recipients must be majoring in the Woodbury School of Business.
  2. First priority will be given to students with documented disabilities with verification for the institution’s Accessibility Services.
  3. Remaining scholarships will be awarded to students with documented financial need.
