I’m a personal financial planning major and earning a minor in Spanish. I’m from Woodinville, WA—a town just north of Seattle. I want to work as a financial planner and help people learn how to effectively budget, save, and invest so that they can live to their fullest. In my spare time, you can find me in the water wakesurfing, wakeboarding, canoeing, or lounging by the lake.

Samantha Noel Barfuss

When I graduate, my goal is to join a startup whose mission aligns with my passions so that I can join a team and help build the company from the ground up.

My name is Samantha Noel Barfuss, and I’m a student in the Woodbury School of Business studying digital marketing. I plan to graduate in the fall of 2019. I’m originally from Utah, but I moved to the East Coast when I was very young, and have called Meridian, Idaho home for the last 10 years. When I graduate, my goal is to join a startup whose mission aligns with my passions so that I can join a team and help build the company from the ground up. I’d also love to do marketing for a nonprofit organization. I’m currently a youth mentor for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a cause near to my heart. I personally struggle with alopecia, an auto-immune disease that causes your hair to fall out. I love to be outdoors, especially during the winter, and skiing has been a passion of mine since I was young. If I’m not at school or work, you’ll find me at Snowbird! I speak Spanish, and I love to travel. This is my first year as part of the Women of Woodbury, and I’m proud to be part of this amazing group of women.

My name is Ashley Grover, and I’m a senior studying Personal Financial Planning. I’m from Chandler, Arizona and moved to Utah three years ago to attend Utah Valley University. I love the outdoors, and I enjoy hiking, climbing, and scuba diving. Since moving to Utah, I’ve been working full-time and attending school full-time to obtain my degree in four years. Upon graduation in May 2019, I hope to find employment with a financial planning firm to help individuals manage their assets and ultimately educate them on ways to be financially responsible. I’m passionate about education, and I hope to encourage others to complete their schooling and continually learn throughout their lives.

Courtney Forbes

I hope to open doors and build my future career as I gain more experience in the accounting field.

My name is Courtney Forbes, and I am working toward an accounting degree in the Woodbury School of Business. I grew up in Heber City, UT, and was a valedictorian of my high school. After graduation, I planned to work toward a medical degree—but plans change! I was offered a job as a professional dancer with Odyssey Dance Theatre, a Utah-based dance company, so I delayed my college education to follow my life-long passion for dance. Between Odyssey, Royal Caribbean, and several side jobs, I spent five years traveling and performing all over the world – throughout Japan, South Korea, China, and Europe. I loved every second and was grateful for the people I met and experiences I had. During those five years, I was torn between pursuing my education and dancing. For now, I’m turning in my dancing shoes for a calculator, and diving into the accounting and business world. I hope to open doors and build my future career as I gain more experience in the accounting field. I am excited to be a part of the Women of Woodbury as I set my sights on the horizon.

My goal is to work as an international accountant or work in the treasury department of a private company. My biggest priority in life is my family.
