Dean's Merit:
Dean’s Merit scholarships are based on academic performance within your major.

Dean's Merit

Eligibility

  • Major specific with additional criteria determined by the department
  • Must be a Utah Resident
  • GPA requirements vary from 2.5-3.5 determined by the department.

How to Apply

  • Students are automtaically considered for Deans Merit scholarships without completing a scholarship application except for students within the School of Education.  
    • Students within the School of Education should complete the Dean's Merit scholarship application within ScholarshipUniverse

Need-Based:
Need-Based scholarships are based on a student’s ability to demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA.

WUE:
Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is for students who are residents of specific western states. Time spent in Utah, while receiving a WUE, does not count towards establishing residency for tuition purposes.

Fall Application Available: January 1st - August 1st

Spring Application Available: October 1st - December 1st

Eligibility

  • Must be a legal resident of one of the following states:
    • Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federal States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, and American Samoa.
  • Must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA to apply
  • Must enroll and earn 12 credit hours each semester
  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled in an eligible WUE degree program. Non-eligible degree programs:
    • Global Aviation, Nursing, High School Concurrent Enrollment, Integrated Studies, and Personal Interest
  • Must upload one of the following when applying:
    • A copy of a valid driver's license from your state of residency
    • A copy of a valid government issued ID from your state of residency

How to Apply

Award

  • $4,537 per semester for the 2024-2025 academic year

  • Students are also responsible to pay the following:
    • Remaining tuition
    • Student fees
    • Course fees
  • Is renewable for up to 10 semesters
