Sending a Message to Someone at UVU
We'll assume you already know the student or employee's e-mail address. If you don’t know the address, you'll need to get it from them. Some addresses can be found by using the Find People search link on the main UVU web site.
A few points about UVU e-mail addresses:
- Valid E-mail addresses for UVU students and employees end with:
- @uvlink.uvu.edu (UVLink e-mail addresses)
- @uvu.edu (GroupWise e-mail addresses)
- @uvsc.edu (old address that must be updated to a valid @uvu.edu address)
- @uvlink.uvsc.edu (these addresses are no longer valid)
- If the e-mail address you have for a person doesn't fit the criteria above, it is not a UVU e-mail address and we won't be able to help you.
- Common problems we've seen in trying to email someone at UVU include:
- Sending to a uvsc.edu address that is no longer used (people have the option to reject or delete all e-mail to their old e-mail addresses)
- Sending to a uvlink.uvsc.edu address (this system was removed in January 2008)
- Sending to invalid e-mail addresses at uvu.edu (people have the option to change their e-mail address)
If you don't receive a response from your intended UVU recipient, you should contact the individual to verify if they received your message. If they didn't receive the message, they should contact the UVU HelpDesk for assistance.
If you receive a bounce message (non-delivery report) when sending to a person at UVU, read it carefully to determine the problem, correct the problem, and try again. If you are unable to resolve the problem, you may contact the UVU HelpDesk for assistance.
E-mail administrators who are trying to resolve technical problems with UVU e-mail should contact the IT Systems Administration team. Use the form below to request assistance or call 801-863-8940.
