Biography

Dr. Momtaj Khanam is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of Technology Management. Since Spring 2025, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Technology Management and Mechatronics Department at Utah Valley University (UVU).

Dr. Khanam earned her bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the prestigious Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). She later pursued an MBA with a focus on Management of Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand. Building on her expertise, she completed both her Master’s and Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology Management at Portland State University (PSU), Oregon.

Dr. Khanam is dedicated to preparing students for successful careers by blending theoretical concepts with practical, real-world applications. She adopts interactive and engaging teaching approaches to enhance student participation and learning.

Dr. Khanam's professional experience includes working on energy efficiency projects funded by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). She collaborated with leading organizations such as_ Regional Emerging Technologies Advisory Committee (RETAC), Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA), and Energy Trust of Oregon. Her significant contributions in load modeling, forecasting, and characterization earned her the prestigious Northwest Energy XP Prize.

Dr. Khanam has authored several research papers published in renowned journals, including Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews and Energy Strategy Reviews, showcasing her expertise and commitment to advancing knowledge in energy efficiency and sustainable practices.
