Kelby Ellis, an assistant professor of nursing, developed a lifelong fascination with the biological and artistic aspects of the human body. This passion motivated her to pursue dual degrees in nursing and modern dance, earning a bachelor’s degree in both fields. Her professional journey led her to clinical work in mental health, maternal child, and lactation nursing before transitioning to full-time education. Kelby’s mission is to instill in students a holistic approach to patient care, emphasizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Although higher education is fulfilling, her greatest satisfaction lies in co-teaching her five children alongside her husband.
