Professor Brandon Truscott

Biography

Brandon T. Truscott earned an MFA from SFAI with an emphasis in Design + Technology, an MEd with an emphasis in cross-cultural teaching, and a BA in studio art from Humboldt State University. As a designer in California, he worked for an international wholesale company with large corporate accounts, and in Las Vegas, Nevada was employed by The Glenn Group advertising agency. Through these opportunities and the direction of his own practice, Truscott Studios, he has executed projects in the areas of Brand Identity, Publication, and Motion design. As an exhibiting artist in multiple mediums, he has shown work in Surreal Salon 9, 10, & 11 at Baton Rouge Gallery, sculptural installation at the SFMOMA Artists Gallery, paintings in The Luggage Store Gallery on Market Street in San Francisco, and won Best of Photography at the Morris Graves Museum of Art in Eureka, CA to name a few. He has won numerous PRINT, AIGA, IPPY, Print Rocks, Design Arts awards for his fine art book design and his hand-made limited edition book of drawings won the Artist Book Contest at the Anne Bremer Memorial Library in San Francisco, CA. His work has been reviewed by critics in the Times-Standard, Art Business, San Francisco Chronicle, and New York Times, featured more than 20 times in the AIGA Member Gallery, and recently published by [BranD] Magazine, Hong Kong. Brandon was the former Chair of the Visual Arts Department at BYU-Hawaii. He is currently an Associate Professor of Entertainment Design at Utah Valley University.
