Professor Brandon Truscott

Biography

Brandon T. Truscott is a Professor of Entertainment Design at Utah Valley University, where he brings over 15 years of full-time university teaching experience to the next generation of creative professionals. He previously served as Chair of the Visual Arts Department at BYU-Hawaii. Truscott holds an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute with an emphasis in Design + Technology, an MEd with an emphasis in cross-cultural teaching, and a BA in Studio Art from Cal Poly Humboldt. A prolific exhibiting artist working across multiple media, Truscott has presented work in over 60 exhibitions over the past 15 years. His accolades include a first-place win in the AI Design Awards 2025 Objects & Items category; motion-based works shown at the Woodbury Art Museum; paintings at The Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco; a sculptural installation at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artists Gallery; and prints exhibited at the Baton Rouge Gallery – Center for Contemporary Art in Surreal Salon 9, 10, 11, and 16. His photography earned a first-place prize from the Morris Graves Museum of Art. Truscott's artist books, wearable art, and typographic works have garnered national and international acclaim, with awards from PRINT Magazine, AIGA, IPPY, Print Rocks, and Design Arts, as well as publication in [BranD] Magazine, Hong Kong. His work has been reviewed by critics in the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times, and featured extensively by AIGA.
