Biography

Dr. Reed Criddle is Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Utah Valley University, where he conducts the Chamber Choir and Deep Green (tenor-bass choir) and teaches conducting and voice. He is recipient of the UVU School of the Arts Dean's Award, two Faculty Senate Excellence Awards, and the Presidential Fellowship Award.

As a conductor and U.S. Fulbright Senior Scholar, he has directed ensembles and led workshops throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. In 2012, Dr. Criddle served as an International Conducting Exchange Fellow to Cuba. He has also served as president of the Utah chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. UVU choirs under his direction have performed at national, divisional, and state conferences of ACDA, NCCO, and NAfME. In 2023, the UVU Chamber Choir was selected for solo performances in Cincinnati Music Hall for the national conference of ACDA.

Ensembles worldwide have performed Dr. Criddle's compositions, including Musikhochschule Lubeck Kammerchor (Germany), Beijing Queer Chorus (China), Hollywood Master Chorale (California), National University of Singapore International Festival Chorus, and Auckland Welsh Choir (New Zealand). He has recently guest-lectured at the Hochschule fur Musik Franz Liszt Weimar (Germany), Oxford University (UK), Westminster Choir College (New Jersey), Taipei University of the Arts (Taiwan), Foguangshan Buddhist College (Taiwan), and the Technical University of Kenya. His compositions are available through Earthsongs, Hal Leonard, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, and North Star Music.

Dr. Criddle is a graduate of Stanford University, the Eastman School of Music, and the University of Michigan.
