Joe Staples

Biography

Joe Staples is an adjunct professor of marketing at UVU. He is a senior B2B marketing executive (CMO/SVP Marketing for 22 years) who advises technology companies around go-to-market strategy and activities. His primary experience is in SaaS, MarTech, employee engagement, and customer experience sectors. Joe has authored/co-authored articles on customer experience, marketing, branding, leadership, employee engagement and work management. His work has been featured in publications such as Ad Age, Digital Marketing Magazine, Customer Magazine, Internet Telephony, MarTech Advisor, and Information Age. He has presented at major events including Dreamforce, Enterprise Connect, Interop, CTIA Wireless Expo, Computer Telephony Expo, Workfront Leap, and Interactions.

Joe was awarded Employee of the Year by Novell Corporation, a Beacon Award from Lotus Corporation, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Technology Marketing Corporation.

On the personal side, Joe is devoted to his family and is an adventurous soul. Examples include having traveled to 27 countries on six continents; done a week long, bring-no-food survival trip in the Exuma Islands; flown (not ridden, but actually flown) a simulated air combat mission over the Pacific ocean; and has gone 185 mph around the Indy500 track with Mario Andretti.
