Grand County Coalition

Grand County is unique due to our rich history, diverse population and unbelievable natural surroundings. Because grassroots is key to long-term societal change in the Bolder Way Forward Framework, the Grand County Coalition strives to bring the BWF message to every city, town, business, neighborhood, and family within the county. Since the “whole is greater than the sum of the parts,” the Coalition looks at who is currently doing the work in each spoke, or focus area, and what programs and efforts already support women and families in Grand County. The co-leads, Executive Leadership Team, and members facilitate communication, resource sharing, and new initiatives or programs as needed and connect Grand County with statewide efforts. By lifting women and girls in our county, we lift all residents.

Ariel Atkins is the Director of Prevention and Education at Seekhaven: Family Crisis & Resource Center in Moab, Utah. She is currently serving on the Grand County School Board. She has a background working at a variety of educational and community nonprofit organizations.

Trisha Hedin

Grand County Commissioner

Trisha Hedin is serving a term as a Grand County Commissioner coupled with being the long-term Director of Adult Education for the Grand County School District and teaching at Utah State University within Environment and Society. She is working on completing a PhD at USU.
