April 2024 Newsletter: A Bolder Way Forward

A Bolder Way Forward Advocates,

Welcome to the fourth edition of our A Bolder Way Forward (BWF) monthly newsletter!

2nd ANNUAL BWF SUMMIT: Registration is open for our second annual gathering on June 6, 2024 from 9:00am-2:00pm. This celebration of the progress made in our first year (of seven) is an opportunity to learn more about the movement and a place to become more engaged in the work! Hosted at Zions Bank Technology Center, we will provide an update on the momentum that a BWF has created since June 2023 and designate ample time for leaders of the 18 spoke areas to meet with their respective members. Breakout sessions will also include an opportunity to join an impact team. Register here to join us and become inspired to create change for Utah women & girls!

DATA VISUALIZATIONS: BWF dashboards have been published! These dashboards show spoke goals, current metrics, and will track progress toward the intended outcomes within the 7-year movement. We are continuing to add dashboards on “Other Metrics” for spokes so that all goals are visually represented.

NEW RESEARCH: We have released the final three research summaries that align with public perceptions and understanding on these spokes: STEM Fields, Male Allyship, and Leadership Development. All published summaries are located here.

SPOKE WORKING GROUPS: Spokes have formed working groups to focus on specific goals within their focus area. View working group information on spoke webpages and reach out to the spoke coordinator to join and assist us in these specific efforts!

COUNTY COALITIONS: This month we have established county coalitions in Beaver, Garfield, Wayne, Sanpete, and Wasatch (on April 25) counties, which will bring us to 22! We are working to get webpages for all county coalitions up ASAP. If you happen to be in (or know people in) Juab, Kane, Millard, Piute, Rich, Daggett, and Morgan counties, please email deborah.lin@usu.edu as we are holding those gatherings in May. We would love to have you involved, and we are still looking for local partners and community members to engage.

EVENTS: Visit our BWF Events page to view all past and upcoming events from BWF spokes and partners, including:
