Happy Women’s History Month, and welcome to the third edition of our A Bolder Way Forward (BWF) monthly newsletter!

NEW RESEARCH: We have released three new research summaries that align with public perceptions and understanding on these 3 spokes: Organizational Strategies & Workplace Culture, K-12 Initiatives, and Higher Education Attainment. All published summaries are located here.

COUNTY COALITIONS: We are thrilled to announce that we had a successful gathering of leaders within Salt Lake County and that the BWF County Coalition is being set up now. We are working hard to get webpages for all 17 up ASAP. If you happen to be in (or know people in) Beaver, Piute, Wayne, and Sanpete counties, please email deborah.lin@usu.edu! We would love to have you involved, and we are still looking for some partners (we will be there in a month!).

EVENTS: We’ve launched a new BWF Events page, which lists out past and upcoming events from BWF spokes and partners, including:

• March 20 (11:30am-1:30pm): A Bolder Way Forward Childcare Spoke Launch Event (BWF Childcare/Pre-K Spoke)

• March 20 (6:30pm-8:30pm): She Can I Can (BWF Utah County Coalition - Utah Valley Women Leadership Collaborative)

• March 21 (12:00pm-1:15pm): Utah Women in Society – A Living Room Conversation (partnered Zoom event with Living Room Conversations)

• March 30 (3:00pm-5:00pm): You Got This! A Panel Discussion of Inspirational Women’s Success Stories (Emerald Hills Institute, in partnership with Tech-Moms and BWF Workforce Development Spoke)

• April 10 (8:00am-10:30am): SAFE Symposium: Update Breakfast (partnered event with Saprea, Malouf Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse Utah, and BWF Child Sexual Abuse Spoke). Dr. Susan Madsen will be one of the speakers providing A Bolder Way Forward update. Spoke leaders (Chris Yadon, Laurieann Thorpe, and Jake Neeley), along with Kristin Andrus (The Policy Project) will also be speaking.

• April 18 (12:00pm-1:15pm): Utahns’ Perceptions of the Challenges Facing Women and Girls Dr. Susan Madsen will share insights about the 2023 fall study results as a whole and many BWF spoke leaders will share brief insights about the findings related to their specific spokes.

Check out the UWLP community calendar for all events in Utah for girls and women! The UWLP has also just released a page that lists programs specifically for girls and young women (K-12).
