The TRiO Student Support Services Program Mentoring Program (TSSSM) was designed to assist students who are experiencing academic difficulties. The TSSSM program is to help clients improve their academic standing, to promote wise choices and/or improve their life skills and attitudes. The Mentors are to act as guides to the clients. Assisting them to understand the university culture, including what is expected of them as students at a university and to help understand course assignments. Their role is to “be there” for clients and, as helping paraprofessionals, to determine academic and social needs.

The TRiO Student Support Services Open Lab is designed to provide additional/occasional tutoring services to our students who need tutoring services outside of their regularly scheduled sessions. We offer Labs in all Science, Accounting, Writing, Behavioral Science and Math. Please see our schedule for more information.

TRiO Student Support Services has a student computer lab for TRiO students use.

Students can access the lab to write papers, complete on-line homework assignments, research on the internet, check email, register for classes, access blackboard vista and print.

The TRiO Scholarship is for incoming students into Utah Valley University. It is a half tuition scholarship for a maximum of 2 semesters. Students in the program are assigned a mentor and must meet with the mentor once a week during the time they have a scholarship and must finish a financial literacy course offered through our department.
